CONFERENCE: Postponed to 31 July & 1 August 2020

  • CONFERENCE: Postponed to 31 July & 1 August 2020

On account of the living and working conditions associated with the coronavirus epidemic and the very real possibility that these may still be in force at the time that the 2020 NumberSense User Group Conference was planned for (22 and 23 May 2020), we have taken the decision to postpone the conference.

We hope that you are adapting well to the living and working conditions that we must adopt if we are to “flatten the curve” and beat the coronavirus epidemic. Ironically … “flattening the curve” is the use of mathematics to explain why social distancing is the single greatest action that will enable us to beat the virus. On account of the living and working conditions associated with the coronavirus epidemic and the very real possibility that these may still be in force at the time that the 2020 NumberSense User Group Conference was planned for (22 and 23 May 2020), we have taken the decision to postpone the conference as follows:

    New dates: 31 July & 1 August 2020

Venue: The Vineyard, Newlands, Cape Town (unchanged)

We are aware that these dates coincide with the currently scheduled start of school holidays for the three term schools. Sadly, these are the only viable alternate dates that we could secure with the conference venue, and, with all the uncertainty that surrounds the virus and its management, even these school holiday dates may change.

We will soon be circulating a new Conference registration brochure. To those colleagues who have already registered, please will you write to: conference@numbersense.co.za and indicate:

EITHER: That you intend to attend the conference on the new dates and that we should retain your registration fee.

OR: That you would like us to refund your registration fee. If this is the case, please provide full banking details of the account into which you would like to have the fee refunded.

PLEASE NOTE: You must please update your accommodation and travel arrangements yourself! As we navigate this difficult time I again want to urge you to take social distancing and personal hygiene very seriously so that we can, as a nation, beat this pandemic.
