• Daily Mental Arithmetic Support

    Manipulating Numbers (mental arithmetic) resources that support each of the NumberSense Workbooks (1-28).

    These resources provide mental arithmetic activities (delivered orally), intended for daily practice.

    For NumberSense Workbooks 1, 2 and 3 the mental arithmetic activities are described and detailed in the Support Notes below, which can be downloaded at no charge.

    For NumberSense Workbooks 4-28, there is a learner booklet, which can be flexibly implemented, for example:

    • The teacher has a copy and reads out the mental arithmetic;
    • Each learner has a booklet and completes the activities as the teacher calls these out (our recommendation).

    The Mental Arithmetic Booklets can be purchased via our online shop.

    Please note that the mental arithmetic for the Intermediate and Senior Phases are in development and will be released as each one is completed. Please see the Product Development tab for information regarding their readiness.
